Fiji flights of fancy Saturday, October 18, 2014, 4:59PM, Savusavu, Vanua Levu, Fiji We’ve been back in Fiji for about 6 weeks now – it’s been lovely but it’s a little blustery outside today so I’ve been reviewing photos from this season – below are some of my favorites. RED at Paradise Resort – Taveuni, Fiji We spent about a week in “Paradise”, the name says it all. One of the most welcoming places we’ve ever been. Great diving, delicious food, great massages, lovely, lovely people – come to Paradise, click here. This is the view we enjoy when we have breakfast out here at the Savusavu marina. Lovely, isn’t it? Our view over breakfast While we’ve been here awaiting our ballots for the upcoming election to arrive via snail-mail, we’ve had some work done on RED – he really needed a wax job, don’t you agree? Before and after. We’ve also been doing some provisioning for the rest of our season. Who knew that there was a Wine Fairy? OK, maybe it’s more like a Wine Ferry… Either way, we’re all set for awhile. We ordered the wine by phone and the next morning (much too early) it arrived on the ferry a short walk from RED. One item we’ll ALWAYS have room for – it’s what makes hauling provisions, especially liquid provisions, do-able Our haul Wine Fairy (Ferry) Richard’s formal island wear, it’s called a lavalava. Ask Richard how it got its name. I just can’t help myself – we had such a great time in the states – prepare yourself for more Kelly pictures… Sisters! (most of) The Rome Kelly Family Father of the bride – my big brother Ted (Ed)! All smiles (most of) The Portland Kelly’s Richard in the sunset Sisters! And more picts from our time in the States. In Oregon we toured Howard Hughes’ Spruce Goose at Evergreen Aviation Museum – it was COOL! Check it out here. Ginger and Wes flying the Goose Richard in the Goose Yup, the beach balls were for flotation Engine that looks like a bug “Our” Alaska – so beautiful! Here are a few more photos from earlier this season in Minerva Reef and Tonga. The market in Neiafu, Vava’u, Tonga The Catholic Church in Neiafu, Vava’u, Tonga Vanilla beans drying in the sun in Tonga – it smelled amazing! Minerva Reef – 360 degrees of reef and ocean – no land or trees in sight. We were there 2 days. Now I think happy hour is calling – lots of love!
