Auberge La (Jason) Bourne Today we had a very gentle day walking from Gite Mermoud in Vallorcine to Auberge La Boerne in Tre-le-Champ, France. I’ll save you the trouble, it was about 3 miles. We had a lovely time with Veronique, our host at Gite Mermoud, and the other travelers. A group of individual travelers, that had been crossing paths for most of their trips. Eliza from Melbourne, Australia , Peter, from the Netherlands, a gentleman from Bulgaria, a woman from the Bay Area of California, gentlemen from Hawaii and the three of us. It was a wonderfully convivial group. We stopped for a snack at Col des Montets, at a nature center. There cafe WAS open (a recurring theme in our travels is that we arrive when restaurants are closed, no matter the hour). And when we arrived just before noon, at La Jason Boerne, they were just preparing for lunch. Richard and I shared a charcuterie board that was delish, and Donna says her chicken curry was good. We’re now watching the hikers arrive and enjoying shade on the patio, with the dog (Ipso), and the, as yet, unnamed kitty.
